Unauthorized Use

What constitutes unauthorized use?
Any product, aside from administrative materials authorized by local councils (as defined in the FAQs), that bears a BSA mark, word, phrase, or insignia, but does not bear the BSA Officially Licensed Product holographic seal or holographic tag, is generally not authorized.

Report all items that you believe to be unauthorized here.

How to identify unauthorized use.
All BSA Officially Licensed Products produced after January 1, 2007 will have one or all of the following insignia on the item or on packaging:
  • A BSA Officially Licensed Product Seal (printed in gold with a gradational background within the seal).
  • A BSA Officially Licensed Product Seal in gold or black without the gradational background within the seal, but with a holographic seal affixed.
  • A BSA Officially Licensed Product holographic hangtag.
Reporting Unauthorized Use:
If you provide your contact information, BSA may contact you for additional information, if necessary. Your personal information will be kept confidential, except where release is required by law.
